EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Ballard DC Executive Committee is composed of the four DC officers elected annually and the Ballard DC’s rep to the City Neighborhood Council. Other nonvoting participants include the Council’s immediate past president and the chairs of any standing committees.
The Exec Committee meets on Thursday in the week following general meetings of the DC. Meetings are at 7:30 AM at the Ballard Neighborhood Service Center.
The Exec Committee develops the agenda for district council general meetings, tracks ongoing issues, and approves correspondence to be signed by the president.

STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE
This committee was created by the Ballard District Council in 2008. Originally called the Neighborhood Plan Update Committee; this group of volunteers from diverse interests throughout the Ballard district, monitors emerging issues facing the Ballard district, and provides policy recommendation to the district council.
In 2009, the committee was renamed Strategic Planning Committee to reflect that the committee’s role was beyond simply to advise and advocate for updating Ballard’s neighborhood plan.
The committee has focused its attention in 2010 on the specific topic of transportation. However, the committee will continue to serve as a filter or triage on a variety of public policy and private development issues.
