Market Street/45th Street Transit Corridor Improvements

At its May 12 meeting, the Ballard DC will be voting to approve a draft letter of comment concerning this SDOT project. The letter urges SDOT to hold off on any plans for a demonstration project to establish right turn only / transit lanes on Market Street in both directions approaching 24th NW. SDOT is urged to conduct a full analysis of how to improve safety and congestion for all modes of travel at this intersection. Other DC comments request SDOT not to move forward with recommendations which would construct four bus bulbs and close six existing bus zone along NW Market Street within the downtown Ballard core.
