Population growth map of Seattle showing Ballard and South Lake Union with the highest growth rates, 2010-2020

Who is Ballard? Join in the January meeting for a lively demographic update

For our first meeting of 2022, we’re pleased to offer a presentation by Seattle Demographer Diana Canzoneri, Senior Policy Analyst and Population Demographer from the City’s Office of Planning & Community Development (OPCD).

“Who is Ballard?”

Seattle was the fastest growing large U.S. city from 2010-2020, and Ballard’s population increased 66% (second only to South Lake Union).

With new census data finally available, what else can we learn about ourselves as a neighborhood? From the urban village to the greater Ballard area, how have our populations, employment, housing and community growth evolved in the past decade?

Let us know if you have specific questions or issues you’d like to see covered.

Wednesday, Jan 12, 7-8:30pm

The meeting will take place online via Zoom and will also be broadcast on the Ballard District Council YouTube channel.

Q&A from attendees is welcomed and encouraged

For this month we’re making a switch away from “Webinar” format on Zoom to a “Zoom Meeting” standard approach. This means all who join will be “in” the meeting. We are hoping to make this a more participatory approach than just the web streaming format we’ve been relying on.

See you Wednesday, January 12, at 7pm. Please help spread the word to other community members!
