Date(s) - 12/08/2021
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us online Wednesday 12/8 for the December BDC meeting
First off, we’ll feature a brief presentation and community Q&A re: preliminary architectural approaches to the redevelopment of St Luke’s Episcopal Church and properties at 5710 22nd Ave NW, immediately east of Ballard Commons Park.
Via partnership with BRIDGE Housing and Secure Properties, church properties located immediately east of Ballard Commons Park are slated to be redeveloped into a large new market-rate apartment building, an affordable apartment home building for families, a new ground-level space for the Church, and an underground parking garage. (See this link for additional project information.)
Then, from 7:30-8:30pm, we are pleased to host Marc Dones, new CEO of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA), to talk about the work they are doing to address homelessness in the City of Seattle and throughout King County. Discussion will include a brief overview of the new agency — with a specific focus on what it means for the greater Ballard community. (For background, here is a helpful 11/18/21 Seattle Channel overview and interview with Marc Dones.)
Please send questions for community Q&A IN ADVANCE to firstname.lastname@example.org and tune in that evening to participate in the online Q&A/chat.
See you on December 8.
Please help share and invite other community members from the greater Ballard area. All are welcome.
